What we need: roughly 6-12 hours of your time per a week, depending on your reading speed and situational demands. Familiarity with Submittable would be helpful. Access to a word processor that can read and convert to .rtf or Rich Text Format The bulk of your time would be spent reading and evaluating manuscripts, communicating via email with other staff and via Submittable, as well as editing manuscripts, but only after a three-month trial period during which we determine if we're a mutual good fit. Other duties may include sending bulk emails and promoting our stories and reviews via social media, or whatever else comes up. Though there are titles, there is very little hierarchy in the way we run things. Right now Tim does the bulk of the reading and editing, I handle the actual mechanics of posting, which can be complex. As my health gets better I anticipate that approaching more a 50/50 status. Rider is a first-line manuscript reader.
What you get: No monetary pay, but kickass recommendation letters, experience with all elements of running an online journal and a lot of fun to be had.
